It’s not Summer in Australia, but we can pretend.

Pretend we can that we are lying in the full throttle sun next to a lovely pool, only just dipping our toes in the cool water.  But how?  With the latest Trillwave mixtape avaliable for free download you can stock up on great indie tunes and dreams.  Tracklisting below.

Anberlin still got it.

Fantastic new Anberlin song was released a few days ago.  Unbelievable stuff.  If this song and ‘We Owe It To Ourselves’ is anything to go by, their upcoming release is going to be one hell of an album.

The Homecoming give us a treat.

There’s nothing like a good slab of power pop.  The Homecoming have put up a generous download of the song So Loud from their latest release, A Highschool Legacy.  Be sure to check these guys up if you like Owl City and the Summer Set.

The Butcher Upstairs.

Much exciting Academy Is… news today.  William Beckett recently admitted to finally beginning writing for their fourth album.  After a brutal media bashing of Fast Times at Barrington High, there should be pressure to create a new direction.  Let’s pray it is not as drastic as Panic! at the Disco.

To the lesser known member of The Academy Is… Andrew Mrotek has posted two new songs for free download on the bandcamp site of his side project, The Animal Upstairs.  And they are great.

Killers cover Bright Eyes.

Hot off the Spaceman EP, The Killers covered a classic Bright Eyes tune, Four Winds.  Check it out and leave your thoughts.  Is Conor better off to catch onto the synth trend or should we leave him at folk luster?

New Anberlin Song and Video Posted!

Anberlin -- We Owe This To Ourselves.

Is anyone else not totally pumped for the new album out 21.9.10?

Calling All Cars – Hold, Hold, Fire

Calling All Cars originated in Tilba, Australia but the three boys Haydn Ing, James Ing and Adam Montgomery have taken over more than just that town. They’ve started rule over the entire country. Starting their career with two explosive EP’s, the band has finally banded together to produce their debut album, Hold, Hold, Fire which strips your ears of their preconceptions. Whether you listen to Jack’s Mannequin, Paramore, Death Cab For Cutie or Owl City, Calling All Cars have proven themselves accessible and favoured by fans of any genre. The rock group are not bound by noise but forge a path through conventions.

Dinner and a Song for your time.

Dinner and a Suit Free Download

Dinner and a Suit are the perfect example of when balanced alternative rock combined with proper vocals and practice (the boys have been playing since 11!) can make a song brilliant.  Do not be afraid to try their latest generosity Enough for absolutely no cost.  While their genre fits nicely underexperimental, there is nothing wrong here.  Pure lyrics and tight interesting progressions helps Dinner and a Suit break out of an odd genre and slot into your most played list.
