Heroes For Hire take Australia by storm.

Could it get any better?

Heroes for Hire, fresh off the national rock festival extravagance that is Soundwave, are playing a few gigs nationally. These are local shows. These are unbelievably intimate venues. These are not to be missed. If you live in Australia then you are blessed, as chances are you live close enough to experience this. After blowing stages away with a whole new group of songs off their debut, The Life Of The Party, the boys are touring the following dates (tickets found on Moshtix). Do not miss them. You will regret it.

Soundwave Lineup has BEGUN!

The beginning of a festival is quite possibly the most exciting.  Like Christmas Eve, only with far more anticipation and better music.  The Blackout, not to be outdone by Soundwave’s organiser, AJ, annouced themselves to be confirmed  via their Twitter:

Enough of the soppy shit! Australia, what you doing next February/march? Going to soundwave? Cool, so are we! We Cannot wait to come back! X”.

Washington Square Park (2)

Not long ago we featured a Washington Square Park download.  With work draining into nighttime, with sunlight getting shorter and replaced by rain we need something tune off the world.  Loving this free song download.  Kindness to our poor, broke souls.

The Miracle Vitamins – Our Winter Saviours.

Sitting in the rain, wind lashing at your stomach, lightly covered by a thin veneer of material?  That’s Winter for you – and it’s almost here for those of us living in Australia.  But this isn’t such a bad thing.  While the weather is cold and the clouds plume in, music shifts.  The Miracle Vitamins are accomodating our desires with sublime music that begs to be turned up loud as you stare at the windows, watching rain softly slide down the world.  For free.

Beauty in your Brevity is highly praised.

Now all you need is a coffee, a good magazine and a day off work.

Amy Meredith, Boys Like Girls and Calling All Cars set to tour Aus

Calling All Cars, Australian rock phenomenon, are soon to embark on a national tour, sweeping across regional venues and recruiting new fans while still retaining the old ones with a tough, tight live show.  But that’s not the only radical local tour news.

Tommy Eat World

In exciting music news, Jim Atkins, vocalist of Jimmy Eat World has confirmed that their next release will feature the Clarity vibe that was loved and revered by many.   The announcement of guitarist Tom Linton featuring on either the album or a B-side as lead singer evoked strong, unabashed praise from hardcore JEW fans.  While Chase This Light was epic in its own right, fingers crossed its succeeder will take that element but meld the stadium themed emotion with Clarity’s experimental, searching mood.  A revolution may be on our hands.

Straight to blog

All time low are releasing a DVD, aptly named: Straight to DVD.  The premiere saw the Good Charlottle brothers and Pete Wentz among the crowd.  The release of this DVD will predictably fuel many more discussion threads on both the hair and ego of lead singer, Alex.  Fingers crossed the content will be better value than the live release of MTV unplugged, barely scraping an EP at 6 (previously released) songs.
